SecureJobVA seat$7.75/hr flat, nothing on top

What an in-house hire costs

  • Wages at $19/hr$3,293
  • Payroll tax and insurance$560
  • Benefits and PTO accrual$430
  • Desk, equipment, software$180
  • Total every month$4,463

What a SecureJobVA seat costs

  • 173 hrs × $7.75 flat$1,343
  • Payroll tax, benefits, equipment$0
  • Total every month$1,343

You keep $3,120 a month — $37,440 a year.

A month here is 52 weeks divided by 12, so a 40-hour week comes to about 173 hours a month and the seat to 173 × $7.75. You are billed weekly for the hours actually worked, so a single month’s bills can be four or five weeks. The in-house column assumes $19/hr on the same hours, payroll tax and insurance at 17% of wages, and typical benefit and equipment costs; your figures will differ by state and role — we build the real version with you on the call.

If the fit is wrong

Do not like them? We switch them.

You are not stuck with a person who is not working out, and you do not start a hiring process over. Say the word and we move another trained assistant into the seat — at no cost, and with the handover done for you.

  1. You tell your account manager. No form, no notice period, no case to argue — the reason is enough.
  2. We shortlist again the same week. From assistants already trained in your track, against what we now know about your business.
  3. We hand over for you. The tools, the scripts and the context move across, so the new seat does not restart at day one.
  4. You pay nothing for the switch. No replacement fee, and no charge for the overlap while the handover happens.
How it works

From first call to the assistant you picked in about a week.

Day 1

Scoping call

Twenty minutes. We map the tasks eating your week, agree on the hours you need covered, and tell you honestly whether a virtual assistant is the right fix.

Day 2–4

Shortlist

Two or three vetted candidates, each of whom has passed a written task in their track, the qualification exams, a strengths test and an interview with us. You see the same file we do.

Day 5

You interview, you choose

Meet the shortlist yourself. Not the right fit? We go back out at no cost. You never inherit somebody you did not pick.

Week 2

Onboarding and handover

We write the SOPs with you, set up tool access and time tracking, and assign an account manager who sits in on the first week of check-ins.

Ongoing

Managed, not dropped off

Weekly quality reviews, backup coverage when your VA is out, and a free replacement if the fit stops working. You direct the work; your assistant is contracted, paid and managed through us.

The seven things that go wrong

Every way this usually fails, and what we do about it.

Most people who call us have hired a virtual assistant before and it did not work. These are the seven reasons why, and the specific thing on our side that answers each one — not a promise to try harder.

01

Communication gaps

Time-zone mismatches, language and accent barriers, replies that take hours, and assistants who never raise a problem until it lands on you.

How we solve it: Your seat works your hours in your time zone, English is tested in a written task, the qualification exams and a live interview before you meet anyone, and you get a summary at the end of every day — problems flagged the day they appear, not the week after.

02

Quality control and oversight

No way to verify the work is actually happening, and no clear record of output or time spent. What starts as a question turns into distrust.

How we solve it: Time tracking you can audit yourself, so the hours you are billed are the hours you can see, plus a daily written account of what was handled and what still needs you.

03

Vetting and skill mismatch

Résumés and interviews do not reveal real competence. The mismatch shows up once the work starts, and by then it is your problem.

How we solve it: Nobody reaches you without clearing a written task in their track, the qualification exams and a strengths test. Then the free first week shows you real work before you commit.

04

Training overhead

Onboarding takes far longer than expected, especially on niche tasks — and that time was exactly what you were trying to buy back.

How we solve it: Training is paid by us and happens on our time, not your calendar. Your assistant is onboarded on your tools and your scripts before the first shift, so day one is work, not setup.

05

Turnover and reliability

Assistants who ghost, quit without notice, or job-hop between clients — forcing you to re-hire and re-train from zero each time.

How we solve it: One business, one manager, one fixed seat — no gig queue to hop to. Sick days and holidays get backup coverage, and if the fit stops working we replace the seat free and hand over for you.

06

Security and confidentiality

Handing a remote worker access to financial accounts, customer records and passwords feels reckless without contracts or safeguards in place.

How we solve it: Every assistant signs a contract and an NDA and clears an ID and background check before they start, and works to written password and data rules from the first shift.

07

Payment and platform friction

Currency conversion, international payment fees, escrow disputes, and billing that is never quite clear — hourly, task-based, or something in between.

How we solve it: One flat rate, $7.75 an hour worked, invoiced weekly in US dollars. No escrow, no conversion, no platform cut, and no task-based pricing to argue about — you pay the number you were quoted on the first call.

What to expect

The first ninety days, and what to hold us to.

Every staffing company shows you quotes. Here is the part you can actually check against us while the seat is running.

Week one

Your seat goes live. Trained on your tools, your scripts and your escalation rules, with the shift pattern agreed before day one — not assigned to you afterwards.

Day thirty

The queue you hired for is cleared every day rather than every week. You get a weekly summary of what was handled, how fast, and anything that needed you.

Day ninety

You know the number this seat moved — calls answered, quotes chased, hours handed back. If it has not moved, we say so first and change the seat or the plan.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

Will my VA work my hours?

Yes. Your seat is scheduled to your time zone — a standard business day, an evening block, or split coverage across the morning and night. You set the shift on the scoping call and can change it with a week of notice.

Is this shared or dedicated?

Dedicated. One person, working only for you, in your tools and your systems. Not rotating between five other clients, and not a pooled ticket queue.

What if the person is not working out?

Tell your account manager. We start a replacement search the same day and you are not billed for the overlap. No replacement fee, and no minimum you have to serve out first.

How do you handle passwords and customer data?

Every VA signs an NDA and a data-handling agreement before day one. We recommend a shared password manager rather than sending credentials directly, and we set access to the least level the role needs. You can revoke all of it yourself at any time.

Do I need my processes documented already?

No, and almost nobody does. Documenting them is part of onboarding week — we sit with you, write the SOPs from how you already work, and hand you the document at the end whether you stay with us or not.

Is the first week really free?

Yes — you are not billed for the hours your assistant works in week one. Billing starts in week two, weekly and in arrears: each bill covers hours already worked, at $7.75 an hour.

What is the minimum commitment?

None. Billing is weekly and you can end it with two weeks of notice. We would rather earn the next week than lock you into a year.

The free week

How the free week works.

Take a full week with your matched assistant — real work, your hours, your tools — before a single hour is billed. The week itself is not charged; from week two you are billed weekly for the hours worked the week before.

Tell us what is eating your week.

Twenty minutes, no pitch deck. If a virtual assistant is not the right fix for your problem, we will say so on the call.

Which seat do you need first?

Pick everything that applies — we shortlist against it. Most clients start with one.
